Sooooo cold in Tagaytay!!! I just got back from one of the fun-nest road trips I've ever had, aboard Johann's roomy van, along with Glory, Roy, Mira (the original tsunami-- missed you, girl!) and with Mang Nelson at the wheel. It was all thanks to Noel de los Reyes, the romantic balladeer AND product manager of premier pharmaceutical company, Sanofi-Synthelabo. His company had a fashion event at Taal Vista Lodge, and we were the finale number-- or rather, HE was the finale number, with the rest of us backing him up in a rousing (but very expedient!) rendition of Rent's "I'll Cover You" finale..."SOOOOOOO with a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you..."
Anyway, it was over much too soon. That song went by so fast, WE were clamouring for more...hehe. The audience looked like a wave hit them. Tapos na???!!!! Really, we were just getting revved up by my "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, ye-hi-he...!" when it was all over just like that... "seeeeeeeasons ooooooofff........laaaaaaaaav!" Mira was so worked up she wanted to run to the nearest videoke bar. BUT in between settling in Noel's lovely hotel room (with the really interesting fixtures) and our sizzling steak (fish fillet for me) dinner, we had a chance to --- (drum roll) drop by the UK2!!! Roy naturally found all the good pieces, not for himself this time, but for the fastest gun in the UK world, Glory. She got to bring home the best corporate jackets, harumph! But no matter, I could always borrow them if I had to. And I wouldn't have had to pay a cent! Hehe. After our one, quick, "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" number, we settled down outside the ballroom where the pica-pica buffet tables were. Had a few canapes and iced tea (the only other beverage was Johnny Walker, and we weren't quite ready for that!). The highlight of the after-show evening, of course, was...the picture-taking! Johann's ever ready camera was on high gear as owner and subjects alike took on many, many unique (read: bizarre, cheesy) poses in every possible location: lobby bar, lawn grounds beside the eerie glow-in-the-dark alien pods, under lamp-lit trees which resulted in some of the strangest portraits yet. I'm still waiting for Johann to email them all to me so i can post them here. All in all, it was a terrific road trip and bonding day for the bunch. This "raket" marks Roy and Mira's first meeting, and I think Roy has found his match! Haha. By the way, Mira did my smokey make-up. A trial run for the big day in December, which she has so graciously offered to give as her wedding gift. Thanks so much, Mira! Great day, guys! Hope to do all of this all again soon. Here's to road trips!!! |
